Following the ‘Jason Todd’ episode of ‘Titans’, we had the chance to sit down and talk with Curran Walters, who plays the iconic character of Jason Todd in the TV Series. You may also recognise Curran Walters from his work in ‘Too Close to Home’ as well as his guest stint in ‘Girl Meets World’.

INTERVIEWER: How did you first land the role of Jason Todd in Titans?

CURRAN WALTERS: It was just like any other role, I just went and auditioned, it was actually a real easy audition process and yea it was fun man!

INTERVIEWER: What inspiration did you use to prepare for the role of Jason Todd?

CURRAN WALTERS: Before the audition I didn’t really have any concept on who Jason Todd was besides the fact that he was one of the Robins and you know, I think the most iconic story I looked at was the one where Jason and Bruce first met where Jason stole the Batmobile tyres and then we get to know their relationship which I think Jason is most known for, the first time Batman calls Jason Robin is so iconic. So yea, I really dove into everything I could to prepare for the role of Jason Todd.

INTERVIEWER: What can you tell us about your interactions with Dick Grayson in the series?

CURRAN WALTERS: You see the sibling rivalry, you know the brotherhood in a way, but you see Dick wanting to protect Jason, Dick tries to warn Jason about being used by Batman but then you see Jason thinking Robin is the coolest thing ever, there’s nothing better than being Robin. Their relationship develops a lot throughout the season and the fans are gonna learn more.

INTERVIEWER: Would you want to see your Jason Todd turn into Red Hood eventually on Titans?

CURRAN WALTERS: Of course it’s something I’d like to tackle, I think that’s one of the things that makes Jason the most popular, and it’d be fun to play the character so we’ll see what happens in the future.

INTERVIEWER: Will we see Jason Todd show up again in ‘Titans’ this season?

CURRAN WALTERS: Anything’s possible man!

INTERVIEWER: To end off the interview, the episode titled ‘Jason Todd’ releases this Friday, what can you tell our audience regarding that episode?

CURRAN WALTERS: A fun charismatic Jason, I think Jason in this episode brings a sense of light and energy to the season, that’s what different about this show, it’s what the comic fans have been waiting for. And Jason was developed in 1983, 30+ years fan have been waiting to see a live – action portrayal of Jason Todd, it’s just history in the making with this show, it’s what the fans want and I’m so excited to be apart of it.

The ‘Jason Todd’ episode of ‘Titans’ is now live on the DC Universe Streaming Service: Before Dick can reunite with The Titans, he reluctantly teams with Jason Todd, the new Robin, to catch a serial killer targeting performers from Dick’s surrogate circus family from when he was a member of the Flying Graysons. But Jason’s perspective on Bruce Wayne forces Dick to reexamine the truth behind their falling out.
