Joaquin Phoenix & Mike Mills Untitled Drama Set To Begin Filming In November – Will Shoot In New York, Los Angeles, Detroit and New Orleans

With ‘Joker’ projected to earn over $80 million in its domestic box office opening weekend, titular star Joaquin Phoenix has already begun movement on his next project which was recently announced by Deadline. The film is described only as an untitled drama however the film will be directed and written by Mike Mills who is previously known for writing and directing 20th Century Women, a film that tells the story of a teenage boy, his mother and two other women who help raise him among the love and freedom of Southern California of 1979. He also wrote and directed ‘Beginners’ which focuses on a young man who is rocked by two announcements from his elderly father: that he has terminal cancer and that he has a young male lover.

We have learned that the film is eyeing to begin filming in November and will shoot in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit and New Orleans.

The film will be produced by Chelsea Barnard, Lila Yacoub and Andrea Longacre-White as well as distributed by A24, the company that will next release ‘Uncut Gems’, ‘Waves’ and ‘The Lighthouse’.
