We have learned that Rodo Sayagues is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming ‘Don’t Breathe’ sequel that is tentatively titled ‘Don’t Breathe Again’.

Fede Alvarez (‘Evil Dead’, ‘The Girl In The Spider’s Web’) who directed the first film will return to co-write the screenplay for the second film with Stephen Lang also set to reprise his role as The Blind Man. The first film focuses on three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people, they get word about a blind veteran who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he’s an easy target, the trio invades the man’s secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim.

Rodo Sayagues will return to co-write the screenplay on this sequel alongside Fede Alvarez. Sam Raimi will return to produce, who described the screenplay as “the greatest idea for a sequel I’ve ever heard.“

Rodo Sayagues has previously written the screenplay for ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘Don’t Breathe’, ‘Don’t Breathe Again’ will be Rodo’s directorial debut.

Sources say the plot picks up years after the home invasion, The Blind Man has lived in isolation. His peace is broken when he is visited by violent and mysterious people who hold him accountable for his sins.

Production is eyed to begin in April.
