Adam McKay Was Offered To Develop ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

by Jacob Fisher

Last evening, we were at attendance at the double feature screening of ‘Vice’ and ‘The Big Short’ where a QnA took place with director Adam McKay where the subject of Marvel Studios was discussed.

This is a subject Adam McKay has touched on in the past, stating on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast that he was asked to be involved in the ‘Inhumans’ film and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’ (following the firing of director James Gunn). He also was apart of the writers room for ‘Ant-Man’ for Marvel Studios.

He has also expressed interest in developing his own film for Marvel Studios based on the Silver Surfer character stating that there is a “great emotional story” to be adapted onto the big screen.

However, it seems this isn’t the end of his ventures with Marvel Studios, during the QnA, Adam McKay has said that he was asked to help develop ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ for Marvel Studios (it was unclear whether it was to write or direct the film). He added that he was really interested in being apart of the film however, he said that he sadly could not be apart of the film due to his working commitments on ‘Vice’.

Let us know your thoughts on this, would you like to see Adam McKay take on a ‘Spider-Man’ film and would you like to see him work in the Marvel Studios Family again in the future.

Also, yes, we liked both ‘Vice’ and ‘The Big Short’.
