Billy Magnussen In Final Talks For ‘Bond 25’ (EXCLUSIVE)

With ‘Bond 25’ set to begin filming on April 6th, the cast is beginning to be filled out for the film and we have a update regarding one casting for the the final outing of Daniel Craig’s James Bond.

Previously reported by Variety, at that time they revealed that the show was looking to cast “two female roles – a new MI6 agent and the other an accomplice similar to Olga Kurylenko’s character in ‘Quantum of Solace’ — the main villain, and an American CIA agent similar to Jeffrey Wright’s in past installments”. Jeffrey Wright will seemingly not return once again due to his filming commitments to ‘Westworld’ Season 3. Although this is very bitter sweet for fans of both the ‘Bond’ and the ‘Westworld’ franchise, Variety then added that Billy Magnussen is the top choice to play the CIA operative despite no actual offer on the table.

Billy Magnussen has known for his roles in ‘Bridge of Spies’, ‘The Big Short’, ‘Black Mirror’, ‘Ingrid Goes West’, ‘Game Night’, ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’, ‘Maniac’ as well as his upcoming projects including ‘Aladdin’ and ‘The Many Saints Of Newark’. Per our sources, an offer has now been made to Billy Magnussen with him in final talks with director Cary Fukuanga for the role. The only current issue that could disrupt talks is his role in ‘The Many Saints of Newark’ and whether that will affect his potential to star in ‘Bond 25’.

MGM had no comment regarding this story.

Billy Magnuessen’s representatives declined to comment regarding this story.

‘Bond 25’ currently stars Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Rami Malek and Léa Seydoux. The film will begin production on April 6th in Pinewood Studios, London, Matera, Italy and Oslo, Norway and will release on April 8th, 2020.
