‘Winx Club’ was an Italian animated television series created by Iginio Straffi and co-produced by Rainbow SpA, Rai Fiction, and Nickelodeon. The series followed Bloom who travels to the Alfea School for Fairies and befriends teenage fairies Stella, Flora, Musa, Layla, and Tecna. Together these six girls create the Winx Club. In addition to high school, the girls work to save the universe from Lord Darkar and witches Icy, Darcy and Stormy. The series begun in 2004 and is now seemingly gaining the live-action treatment.

Netflix is currently in pre-production on a live-action ‘Winx Club’ series that will be titled ‘Fate: The Winx Club Saga’ with Brian Young (‘The Vampire Chronicles’) set to act as showrunner for the series and Judy Counihan set to executive produce behind her production company, Archery Pictures. Production is eyed to begin in September in Ireland, the series will be also given a large budget.
