With ‘Ms Marvel’ casting currently in the works, we have learned that Marvel Studios has begun their casting search for the three members of Kamala Khan’s family.

These include:

Amir Khan, the older brother of Kamala Khan who they are eyeing to cast a Male in their 20s for the role.

Muneeba Khan, the mother of Kamala Khan who they are eyeing to cast a Female in their 40s-50s for the role.

Yusuf Khan, the father of Kamala Khan who they are eyeing to cast a Male in their 40s-50s for the role.

Marvel Studios are eyeing to cast Pakistani American actors for all three roles.

Bisha K. Ali will serve as showrunner on the series, she is previously known for her writing work on Hulu’s ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ remake. According to our friend and reliable scooper Charles Murphy, the series is eyeing to now begin filming in April in Atlanta. We previously reported that the series was eyeing to film in September but it seems production was pushed forward not so long ago.

We also reported that Marvel Studios is eyeing to cast a Pakistani-American woman between the ages of 16 and 24 to play the 16 year old Kamala Khan. Casting for Ms Marvel is currently in process and we should expect an announcement by the end of the year.

Kamala Khan broke ground by becoming Marvel’s first Muslim character to lead her own comics title. Her identity as a Pakistani-American living in a religious family in New Jersey whilst trying to find her own way has been a major focus of the stories. Her powers have been described as polymorphous, meaning she has the ability to stretch and change her shape.

The ‘Ms Marvel’ comic won a Hugo Award for the best graphic story in 2015.

The series was announced during the D23 Expo alongside new casting announcements for ‘The Falcon and the Winter Solider’ (Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13) and ‘WandaVision’ (Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Kathryn Hahn as Nosy Neighbour) as well as new show announcements including a ‘She-Hulk’ series and a ‘Moon Knight’ series. ‘Ms Marvel’ will seemingly be the first of the three recently announced shows to be released on Disney+.

An important PSA to also note with casting news relating to Ms Marvel, do not believe online websites that claim to be holding auditions for Ms Marvel if you pay a certain amount of money for them, all castings for Marvel Studios-related films and television shows do not cast through this method as this is a scam.
