‘BAFTA A Life in Pictures’ is a long-running series of interviews conducted live in which some of the world’s top talent have attended, giving insights into their career and experiences working on their films. The series has hosted interviews with talent including David Fincher, Kenneth Branagh, Martin Scorsese, Alan Rickman, Meryl Streep, Sam Mendes, Keira Knightley and most recently, Quentin Tarantino.

29th November 2019, The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced that they would be having BAFTA-winning actor Willem Dafoe as their next guest this Friday 6th December at the Odeon Luxe, Leicester Square.

Willem Dafoe has had a career spanning almost 40 years, his extensive filmography has countless timeless classics that define him as one of the most impressive performers in all of Hollywood. With a repertoire of ever-expanding depth, Dafoe has dipped his talents into nearly every area you could think of. One of the most versatile and sough-after actors today, his recent work includes, Julian Schnabel’s Oscar-nominated At Eternity’s Gate (2018), Robert Egger’s The Lighthouse (2019), to Hollywood blockbusters, like Aquaman (2018). He is one of the most celebrated performers of today, with BAFTA, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations.

Dafoe takes on projects that some deem of great risk. Look at his works with provocateur Lars Von Trier, Antichrist (2009) and Nymphomaniac: Vol II (2013). Additionally, Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) and this year’s maritime nightmare-induced film by Robert Eggers, The Lighthouse.

This Friday, those attending the ‘BAFTA A Life in Pictures’ are in for a treat. A treat that has defined many of our greatest and most favourite films. Willem Dafoe will talk on his defining roles, risks and career experience, hosted by BAFTA in the Odeon Luxe, Leicester Square. This event will add to the ever-expanding list of extraordinary guests BAFTA has hosted in the ‘BAFTA A Life in Pictures’ series.
