We have learned that Damien Chazelle’s ‘Babylon’ is eyeing to begin filming in July in Los Angeles. We have also learned some new details regarding the two lead characters.

Brad Pitt and Emma Stone are already signed on to star in the film however, these actors will not be in the lead roles. Sources say that the studio is currently casting the the lead role and a strong supporting female role,

These include the lead male character who sources describe as a early 20s latino male that was born in the U.S. to Mexican immigrant parents who is determined to pursue a career in Hollywood.

As for the strong supporting female character, sources say that it will be Anna May Wong, who was considered to be the first Chinese American film actor to gain international recognition. Since the actor appeared in many silent films, it makes sense why Anna May Wong will have a strong supporting role in this film.

This is because it has been previously reported that ‘Babylon’ will take place during the transition from silent films to talkies and will feature a mix of real-life and fictional characters.

Damien Chazelle will write and direct the film, he previously directed ‘La La Land’ starring Emma Stone and also recently directed ‘First Man’ starring Ryan Gosling. ‘Babylon’ will likely release in 2021 with Paramount Pictures set to distribute the feature film

NOTE: Since I see some people confused by this, Brad Pitt and Emma Stone are not playing the above two detailed roles, they are in different unknown roles in the film.
