by Jacob Fisher

We have learned that Beth Schwartz will serve as executive producer and writer alongside Jim Mickle for Hulu’s upcoming adaption of ‘Sweet Tooth’.

Beth Schwartz is coming off being the showrunner of the seventh and the final season of ‘Arrow’, a role she earned following being heavily involved in ‘Arrow’ since the show’s beginning. She also has been a consulting producer on the popular DC series ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ and will executive produce the ‘Green Arrow & The Canaries’ series if it is picked up by The CW.

‘Sweet Tooth’ is a comic book limited series that was written and drawn by Jeff Lemire and published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint. The story centers on a boy/deer hybrid who leaves home to find the world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of hybrids and humans searching to find answers behind the event.

She will helm the series alongside Jim Mickle, the original showrunner attached from the project since its announcement in early 2018. Mickle recently directed “In The Shadow of the Moon’ for Netflix.

Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey will executive produce the series through their production company Team Downey.

Production is eyed to begin in May in New Zealand.
