Founded in 2019, DiscussingFilm’s Global Film Critics Awards is our very own celebration of the year’s most worthy and impactful films. The GFCA voting body consists of a diverse range of established film critics, awards pundits, and influential voices from around the globe. The nominations for DiscussingFilm’s 2025 Global Film Critics Awards are finally here thanks to this dedicated voting group, which now includes bold voices from right here at DiscussingFilm and major outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, The Wrap, and many more. Follow along in the official nomination announcement of what is now our 6th annual edition of the ceremony.

The top nominees of DiscussingFilm’s Global Film Critics Awards were led by The Substance and Dune: Part Two with 12 nominations each, closely followed by Nosferatu‘s total of 11 nominations. Coming just behind with 9 nominations are Sean Baker’s Anora, Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, and Edward Berger’s Conclave, followed by Nickel Boys’ impressive 7 nominations. 

Other notable nominees this year include I Saw The TV Glow with 6 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, Sing Sing with 6 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor, as well as Challengers, Emilia Perez and A Different Man all receiving 5 nominations each.
