Founded in 2019, DiscussingFilm’s Global Film Critics Awards is a global celebration of the year’s most worthy and impactful films. The GFCA voting body consists of a diverse range of established film critics, awards pundits, and influential voices in the industry from around the globe. The nominations for DiscussingFilm’s 2025 Global Film Critics Awards are finally here thanks to this dedicated voting group, which includes bold voices from DiscussingFilm, major outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, The Wrap, and many more.

Leading the winners are Nickel Boys in Best Picture, followed by The Substance and Anora receiving the Silver and Bronze awards in the category. The Substance took home 5 total wins, followed by a tie between Anora, Sing Sing and Challengers with 3 wins each. Coralie Fargeat (The Substance) received the organization’s Best Director prize, while the acting winners were rounded out by Mikey Madison (Anora), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Danielle Deadwyler (The Piano Lesson), and Clarence Maclin (Sing Sing). 

The top nominees of DiscussingFilm’s Global Film Critics Awards were led by The Substance and Dune: Part Two with 12 nominations each, closely followed by Nosferatu‘s total of 11 nominations. Coming just behind with 9 nominations are Sean Baker’s Anora, Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, and Edward Berger’s Conclave, followed by Nickel Boys’ impressive 7 nominations. 

Other notable nominees this year include I Saw The TV Glow with 6 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, Sing Sing with 6 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor, as well as Challengers, Emilia Perez and A Different Man all receiving 5 nominations each.
