Perhaps one of the most exciting aspects to look forward to in Gavin O’Connor’s sequel, The Accountant 2, is the chemistry between Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. The two play brothers, Christian and Braxton Wolff, were revealed to be siblings towards the end of the first Accountant film released in 2016. Because of that, moviegoers didn’t get to fully enjoy the dynamic between the two talented actors. However, fans can now look forward to an entire film centered around the duo with this long-awaited sequel. Thanks to Amazon MGM, DiscussingFilm has an exclusive look at the actors hitting the road to join fans at the premiere of The Accountant 2 at SXSW 2025.

The video, which can be viewed below, shows the two actors going on a road trip together to Austin. Given that this newest film is all about the brotherly love between the two and Affleck’s character Christian lives out of a trailer, it only makes sense that the two bond in real life through shared misadventures on the road. Their SXSW destination is also going to have plenty for fans to look forward to, especially with The Accountant 2 Activation at SXSW 2025.

The experience will happen on Saturday, March 8, at 701 Trinity St Parking, Austin, TX 78701. Fans who head over will experience various fun challenges and giveaways centered around The Accountant 2, as well as music and food. There will even be a chance to win a premiere for the film, which will be happening at the Paramount Theater that same night.

Picking up several years after the events of the first film, The Accountant 2 follows Christian Wolff (Affleck), who treasury agent Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) tracks down to help investigate the death of Raymond King (J.K. Simmons), the director of the Treasury’s FinCen. Wolff soon becomes part of a sprawling conspiracy and recruits his estranged brother Braxton (Bernthal) to help solve the puzzle. Using violent and morally ambiguous methods to get to the truth. With fast-paced action and new cast members like Daniella Pineda, moviegoers are in for a treat in this long-gestating sequel.

Gavin O’Connor’s sequel has been a long time coming, and Affleck and Bernthal are clearly making the most of their time together in this new film. While their road trip may have had some bumps with disagreements on snack choices and naps, the two actors will (probably) make it to the film’s premiere at the Paramount Theater. Be sure to check out the SXSW Activation for the film to immerse yourself further in the world of The Accountant 2.
