The Prime Video September 2026 list of new arrivals has offered subscribers plenty of surprises this month. Earlier this September, the Prime Video original film The Runner, starring Gal Gadot, rose to the top of the streaming service’s charts. The beloved British motoring series The Grand Tour also returned for a reboot season with a new trio of hosts: James Engelsman and Thomas Holland of the Throttle House YouTube channel, alongside social media personality Francis Bourgeois. Next up will be the Prime Video original series Neagley, which premieres all 8 episodes of its first season on September 16.
Neagley sees actress Maria Sten reprise the titular role of Frances Neagley from Prime Video’s Reacher. Fans of the hit Amazon series know her as a former protege of Jack Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. When an old close friend of Neagley is unexpectedly murdered, she puts all the skills she learned in the SIU to get to the bottom of the case. Of course, Alan Ritchson will make a guest-star appearance as Reacher, but this Amazon show aims to build an expansive franchise based on thriller novelist Lee Child’s characters for the long run. All eyes will be on Neagley to see whether viewers are actually interested in a Reacher extended universe on television.
Another notable Prime Video original film premiere in September 2026 is The Love Hypothesis. The Amazon movie has a built-in audience, based on the 2021 contemporary romance novel of the same name by Ali Hazelwood, which originated as Star Wars fan fiction centered on the popular “Reylo” ship between Rey and Kylo Ren. PhD student Olive Smith (Lili Reinhart) enters a fake relationship with her professor, Dr. Carlsen (Tom Bateman), when her crush, Jeremy (Nicholas Duvernay), starts dating her best friend Rachel (Anh), using the ruse to test her theories about love. The Love Hypothesis is poised to be many Prime Video subscribers’ next addictive rom-com when it debuts on September 23.
The Prime Video streaming service just added the two theatrical Carrie films: Brian De Palma’s iconic 1976 adaptation and the 2013 reboot. Perfect timing for horror fans as Mike Flanagan‘s new, modernized TV series adaptation launches next month as a Prime Video exclusive. Finally, on September 15, anime fans will get streaming access to the first four seasons of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and the franchise’s first film, Mugen Train (2021).
