Despite pilot season in full gear through this month with all pilots currently in the process of filming, we at DiscussingFilm have heard of a pilot that has been ordered but will not go into development anytime soon.

Per our sources, we have been told that the USA Network is looking to develop a ‘Evel Knievel’ biopic series that will chronicle the life of the iconic motorcycle stunt performer. Evel Knievel is known for attempting more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps throughout his career as well as his famous Snake River canyon jump. In his personal life, his real name was Robert Craig Knievel, he was married twice and had four children; two boys, Kelly and Robbie and two girls, Tracey and Alicia. He sadly passed away on November 30th, 2007 at the age of 69.

The series will be produced by Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven (‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Scooby Doo’, ‘Wonder Woman 1984’) with Etan Frankel (‘Shameless’, ‘Animal Kingdom’) set to write the series with McG (‘Terminator Salvation’, ‘Charlies Angels’) set to direct an undisclosed amount of episodes for the series as well as produce the series. Production is eyed to begin in January 2020.
