We have learned that Karyn Kusama will direct an undisclosed amount of episodes of Showtime’s upcoming ‘Yellowjackets’ series.

‘Yellowjackets’ will be written and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos). The series follows a girls’ high school soccer team. who are the unlucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness, chronicling their descent from a friendly, cooperative team to warring, cannibalistic clans similar to Lord of the Flies. At the same time, it follows the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly twenty-five years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

Karyn Kusama is known for directing ‘The Invitation’, ‘XX’, ‘Destroyer’ as well as episodes of ‘The Man In The High Castle’ and ‘Halt and Catch Fire’.
