by Jacob Fisher

Big DC news! According to TheWrap, Michael Keaton is in talks to star as Batman in Warner Bros.’ upcoming The Flash film.

Michael Keaton has a significant history with DC dating back to the late 1980’s where he starred in the titular role of Batman in Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns alongside A-List stars such as Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, and Michael Gough.

Michael Keaton has also recently starred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He is expected to reprise that role in Jared Leto’s Morbius film.

The Flash will be written by Birds of Prey screenwriter Christina Hodson and helmed by It director Andy Muschietti. Ezra Miller is also expected to reprise his role as The Flash.

Production was originally slated to begin in September but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, that will no longer be the case.

The Flash is currently scheduled to release in theaters on June 3, 2022. Other DCEU films that are currently planned for release over the next 2 years include Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, Black Adam, The Suicide Squad, Shazam! 2, Super Pets, and Aquaman 2.

More details to come.
