This holiday season, Netflix is saying goodbye to plenty of notable films and shows. New bold original films like Todd Haynes’ May December, Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, and Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon have been generating buzz on the streaming service this month. But now it’s time to make some extra room on those watch lists for the titles leaving Netflix in December 2023.

First of all, 2008’s Kung Fu Panda is leaving Netflix soon. With Kung Fu Panda 4 hitting theaters in March 2024, there could be no better time to rewatch the DreamWorks classic that first introduced audiences to Jack Black’s Po. And on the note of DreamWorks, all six seasons of the animated spin-off series The Adventures of Puss in Boots are sadly leaving Netflix too. Despite being a “Netflix Original Series,” the show is being removed as part of the streamer’s deal with DreamWorks Television since it already came to an end 6 years ago.

All Hail King Julien was the most recent DreamWorks animated series that got removed from Netflix for the same reason, and Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh and Voltron: Legendary Defenders are next on the list to leave the platform in 2024. These shows will continue to exist as re-runs on the Universal Kids television channel but do not currently have another streaming home.

Netflix subscribers who enjoyed Martin Scorcese’s latest masterpiece, Killers of the Flower Moon, might want to check out The Wolf of Wall Street before it leaves the streaming service at the end of December 2023. The film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is a cinematic achievement in its own right. On that same note, those who had a good time with Ridley Scott’s Napoleon should check out Gladiator as it’s set to leave Netflix on the same day. The 2000 historical epic is considered one of Scott’s best movies and is getting a highly-anticipated sequel next year, simply titled Gladiator 2.

Moving on, Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation is leaving Netflix as well and is perfect for those who watched the director’s latest film, Priscilla. Starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, Lost in Translation is a great place to start for fans looking to get into more of Coppola’s filmography. Meanwhile, multiple films are leaving Netflix from the great Steven Spielberg, including Catch Me If You Can and Saving Private Ryan. All four films in the Jaws franchise are expiring from Netflix too. More notable titles leaving Netflix in December 2023 include Brian De Palma’s Scarface, Jordan Peele’s Us, and the first four films in the Mission: Impossible franchise.

In the mood for a good raunchy comedy? Both Anchorman movies, Role Models, Get Him to the Greek, and Friends with Benefits are some fan-favorite comedic choices leaving Netflix at the end of December 2023. Taylor Swift reputation Stadium Tour is also about to be removed from the streaming service and should be queued up one more time by fans who gushed over The Eras Tour film in theaters.

Finally, it must be mentioned that Love Actually is about to expire from the platform again. The Christmas-themed romantic comedy is considered a traditional watch this time of the year by many. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s worth the time for its packed ensemble cast alone, featuring Bill Nighy, Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Andrew Lincoln, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Keira Knightley, Emma Thompson, the late Alan Rickman, and more. Check out the full list of everything leaving Netflix in December 2023 below! You can also find what’s leaving HBO & Max this month right here on DiscussingFilm.
