CinemaCon 2026 has been one to remember, with presentations from Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, Amazon MGM, and Warner Bros. offering cinephiles plenty to chew on over the last week. Walt Disney Pictures is closing out the event once again, with all eyes on their presentation for any news on the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. The official convention of Cinema United, formerly known as the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), CinemaCon has become one of the year’s top news events for eager moviegoers. The annual event brings together over 6,000 theater owners, distributors, exhibitors, industry professionals, and journalists from 60+ countries at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to celebrate the communal theatrical experience and discuss what’s to come.

Disney is expected to highlight their slate across all of their subsidiaries: Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Walt Disney Animation, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures. Aside from Avengers, Press and CinemaCon attendees are expected to get exclusive looks at The Mandalorian and Grogu, the live-action Moana remake, Toy Story 5, Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars, and the new Disney original animated film Hexed. There is a likelihood that Disney will share teases at blockbusters slated for 2027 as well, including Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter.

CinemaCon is not open to the public, which means there are no online releases of exclusive footage or first-look reveals from the event. But look no further, as we at DiscussingFilm will be listing below every major news update and exclusive footage description LIVE from Paramount Pictures’ CinemaCon 2026 studio presentation. Stay tuned as we continue to cover this year’s CinemaCon today, with the final presentations from Walt Disney Studios still coming today.

Live Disney Updates From CinemaCon 2026

The Devil Wears Prada 2

Release Date: May 1, 2026.
Directed by David Frankel.
Screenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna.
Based on characters created by Lauren Weisberger.
Produced by Wendy Finerman.
Main Cast: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Justin Theroux, & Kenneth Branagh.

Exclusive Footage Description: To open the Walt Disney Studios panel at CinemaCon 2026, Anne Hathaway recorded a video to remark on the influence of the original film and then introduced a short scene from The Devil Wears Prada 2. The footage reintroduces audiences to Meryl Streep as the iconic and sardonic Miranda Priestly, the editor of Runway magazine. The scene is a classic pitch meeting, where Miranda roasts the new collection being presented to her on the TV screen. Another employee pitches a Nattional Parks themed collection with app integration, to which she remarks that she hopes for a quick death.

Notably, this is the first we see of Bridgerton star Simon Ashley as Miranda’s personal assistant, whose main job is to step in and stop her from saying anything too controversial or politicaly incorrect, which is hilarious. Then a sizzle reel for the movie play, ending on a quip about the collection’s exorbitant price from Emily Blunt as Emily. “Haven’t you heard of Christmas?”

The Mandalorian and Grogu

Release Date: May 22, 2026.
Directed by Jon Favreau.
Written by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, & Noah Kloor.
Based on characters created by George Lucas.
Produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, & Ian Bryce.
Main Cast: Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White,  Jonny Coyne, Dave Filoni, Steve Blum, & Martin Scorsese.

Exclusive Footage Description: Disney treated CinemaCon 2026 attendees to the first 18 minutes of Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and Grogu. The film does not have an opening crawl like the main entries in the Star Wars franchise, but it does feature a few slides of opening text that establish that Din Djarin is now working for the New Republic for hire. He’s still bounty hunting, per se. However, his targets now are the last high-ranking remnants of the Empire. We open on a group of former Empire leaders gathering in an old bunker on what appears to be Hoth or another snowy planet.

The film then immediately pivots to an extended set piece in which the Mandalorian infiltrates this old base and takes out waves of snowtroopers to reach a powerful benefactor who’s been protecting these ex-Imperial warlords. We see Mando take these troopers out with ease, then leading into a chase sequence with his loyal youngling/sidekick Grogu. We go from the base to Mando and Grogu chasing the benefactor, who’s trying to escape inside an AT-AT,  on a small scout walker. This is the sequence that has been widely showcased in the trailers. The action is just as exciting as in the Disney+ show, and the translation to the big screen is almost seamless.

After the introductory set piece, we learn a little more about the film’s plot. Mando works for a New Republic general/leader played by Sigourney Weaver. Mando has been going on these missions not just with Grogu but also with Zeb Orrelios from Star Wars Rebels. The team has a new mission from Weaver’s character, get the location and indentity of one of the Empire’s most notorious leaders, who is shrouded in mystery. To do that, Mando has to get the information from the Hutt gang on Nal Hutta. They have agreed to turn over the intel in exchange for saving one of their members, Rotta the Hutt, who is being held captive by a rival crime syndicate.

Mando initially hesitates to work for the Hutts, but Weaver convinces him with a plea that, in order to prevent the Empire from coming back, drastic measures are needed. She also pays him in advance with a special surprise: his old ship, the Razor Crest, now rebuilt with other vintage parts. Outside the footage, writer-director Jon Favreau additionally confirmed that the movie has 49 minutes of IMAX footage.

Toy Story 5

Release Date: June 19, 2026.
Directed by Andrew Stanton.
Written by Andrew Stanton & Kenna Harris.
Produced by Lindsey Collins.
Main Cast: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Greta Lee, Conan O’Brien, Tony Hale, Craig Robinson, Shelby Rabara, Scarlett Spears, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Matty Matheson, John Ratzenberger, Wallace Shawn, Blake Clark, Jeff Bergman, Anna Vocino, Annie Potts, Bonnie Hunt, Melissa Villaseñor, John Hopkins, Kristen Schaal, Ernie Hudson, & Keanu Reeves.

Exclusive Footage Description: During the Walt Disney Studios panel at CinemaCon 2026, attendees were treated to a full scene from the upcoming Pixar sequel Toy Story 5. The footage starts with Bonnie’s parents giving her the Lily Pad (Greta Lee) for the first time. Bonnie is instantly hypnotized by the screen, with her eyes growing huge to an almost hilariously creepy degree. Her full attention is occupied from day to night and until the next morning, when Bonnie’s dad makes her take a “screen time” break during breakfast.

Jessie (Joan Cusack), who is now the leader of the toys with Buzz by her side, decides to confront Lily with Bullseye on top of Bonnie’s bed. She tells Lily that the toys have been trying to encourage Bonnie to make new friends in-person this summer, and that her distractions by the screen have been ruining their plans. In response, Lily adds Bonnie to a group chat with all the girls in her dance class. Lily is part of “The Pond,” a digital server for children where they can play all sorts of learning games and add each other in group chats.

Bonnie is more esttic than ever, and thanks to The Pond, she then asks her parents if she can go to a sleepover she was invited to by a girl who accepted her friend request. The rest of the toys don’t believe that making digital friends is the same as making them in real life, which pushes Jessie to the edge with a physical fight with Lilypad. Moving on, the second clip is the grand re-entrance of Woody (Tom Hanks) and Bo Peep (Annie Potts), Woody now sporting a new poncho, an incredibly shiny bald spot behind his head, and a kind of beer belly.

Woody reunites with Buzz (Tim Allen) and explains that he came as soon as Jessie contacted him for help as her deputy, but Buzz claims that he is actually Jessie’s appointed deputy. The prompts the two to enter a friendly yet competitive power struggle again, that is seemingly present throughout the whole film, to see who is truly the better deputy that can protect all the toys. Notably, Bo Peep leaves with her gang of abandoned toys from Toy Story 4, claiming it’s girls’ night. It doesn’t seem like she and some of the other toys from 4 will be as present in Toy Story 5 based on this exclusive look.

Moana

Release Date: July 10, 2026.
Directed by Thomas Kail.
Screenplay by Jared Bush & Dana Ledoux Miller.
Based on the 2016 animated film by Jared Bush, Ron Clements, & John Musker.
Produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Beau Flynn, & Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Main Cast: Catherine Laga’aia, Dwayne Johnson, John Tui, Frankie Adams, & Rena Owen.

Exclusive Footage Description: Dwayne Johnson and Catherine Laga-aia took to the CinemaCon stage to present exhibitors an exclusive look at the live-action Moana remake. The trailer opens on the emotional scene from the first film, in which Moana is lost at sea and reaches out for guidance to her grandmother. She begins singing I Am Moana (Song of the Ancestors) as the trailer shows us the numerous familiar setpieces from Moana’s first adventure, like the Kakamora pirates, her encounter with Tamatoa, and the image of the sea parting to open a path forward. The trailer ends with Catherine Laga-aia’s take belting on the iconic “I Am Moana” lyric.

But there’s more — we also were shown a sneak peek at Dwayne Johnson as Maui performing “You’re Welcome.” His tattoos are animated and move around his body as he flexes his muscles, just like in the original film. He uses his fishhook to transform into a giant whale that scares a CG-animated Hei Hei. The clip ends with an exchange with Moana and Maui. “Thank you,” says Moana. “You’re welcome,” says Maui.

The Dog Stars

The Dog Stars | Official Trailer

Release Date: August 28, 2026.
Directed by Ridley Scott.
Screenplay by Mark L. Smith.
Based on the novel by Peter Heller.
Produced by Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Cliff Roberts, & Mark L. Smith.
Main Cast: Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, & Benedict Wong.

Wild Horse Nine

Release Date: November 6, 2026.
Directed by Martin McDonagh.
Written by Martin McDonagh.
Produced by Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, Martin McDonagh, & Anita Overland.
Main Cast: John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, Tom Waits, Parker Posey, Mariana di Girolamo, Ailín Salas, Paola Giannini, & Samuel Wayt.

Exclusive Footage Description: During the Fox Searchlight portion of Walt Disney Pictures’ Cinemacon 2026 panel, attendees were given a first look at Martin McDonagh’s next film, Wild Horse Nine. The film follows two CIA agents in 1973 going on a mission in Chile. The footage opens on Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich as the two agents, bantering about taking a trip to Easter Island. Two Chilean women correct Malkovich on the indigenous name, which angers Malkovich. He challenges the women, asking them if they enjoy their left-wing president and threatens to “destabilize their democracy.”

The footage cuts to Malkovich and Rockwell boarded and flying on the plane, in which Rockwell scorns Malkovich for his behavior with the two women. The two banter about how Malkovich has been assassinating enemies since Rockwell was ever born. The scene feels like classic McDonagh, focusing on complex and mean-spirited characters and finding the humor in their neurotic personalities as well as delivering sharp satire.

Hexed

Release Date: November 25, 2026.
Directed by Josie Trinidad & Jason Hand.
Produced by Roy Conli & Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones.

Exclusive Footage Description: The first-ever look at Walt Disney Animation’s next original film, Hexed, was shown at CinemaCon 2026. The film follows Billie Doe (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld), an unconventional teenage girl who discovers that she comes from a lineage of witches. We got to see a scene in which Billie falls down a dark and mysterious lair full of twisty tree vines to discover a magical, talking book and pen.

The talking book and pen give her a series of questions to prove if she is a witch. The questions are rather comical, like if she’s ever been persecutated or burned at the stake. She does reveal like she doesn’t belong in the regular world, though, which makes her pass the witch test. After being accepted, a portal opens to the world of Hex, which looks like a colorful renaissance-era village with large hills. Aside from this short scene, it was revealed that Rashida Jones will be voicing Billie’s mother, a powerful long-time witch.

Avengers: Doomsday

Release Date: December 18, 2026.
Directed by Anthony Russo & Joe Russo.
Written by Michael Waldron & Stephen McFeely.
Based on characters from Marvel Comics.
Produced by Kevin Feige, Anthony Russo, & Joe Russo.
Main Cast: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, & Channing Tatum.

Exclusive Footage Description: To cap off the Walt Disney Studios’ panel at ComicCon 2026, attendees were given an exclusive trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, which is packed full of new information. The trailer opens on Professor Xavier watching an energy rift from inside the X-Mansion, which is in shambles — the famous “Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters” sign lying in rubble. Then we see Robert Downey Jr. unmasked as Victor Von Doom, talking in his Latverian accent, teasing that “something is coming” that cannot be stopped. After the studio logo, the newly completed Avengers Tower is shown with a fresh red-and-white A logo on the building.

The Fantastic Four meet with Sam Wilson’s division of the Avengers. Some alliances are forged as we are shown The Thing trying to join forces with the Wakandans. Shuri and M’Baku are seen trying to make peace with Namor and the Atlanteans. Tensions rise as some of the fight scenes between our heroes are shown. Channing Tatum as Gambit battles Shang-Chi, with his purple-powered staff being able to hold off the Ten Rings. A huge money shot comes with Yelena coming face to face with Mystique from the original Fox movies, sporting a new haircut and a white comic-accurate costume, who we see morph into Florence Pugh before they fight.

In a major beat of the trailer, Thor tries to strike down Doom with Stormbreaker, using all of his power to summon lightning, but Doom can easily stop it with just the palm of his hand. Throughout the trailer, Thor is begging other characters to put their “quarrels aside” because he explains that he’s had friends and allies die at the hands of enemies who are less powerful than Doom. He is very clearly afraid and claims that they need “America.” Thor then looks to a character off-screen and says, “It can’t be.” He holds out Mjolnir, which then flies into Steve Rogers’ hands, before the title card concludes the trailer.

Ice Age: Boiling Point

Release Date: February 5, 2027.

Exclusive Footage Description: Ray Romano, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah took the stage at CinemaCon 2026 to give an exclusive look at the opening scene of Ice Age: Boiling Point. The biggest surprise? The film of course opens on Scrat, but this time he has a baby with him. In the scene, Scrat refuses to share his big acorn with baby Scrat, sucking a small acorn that looks like a pacifier. When Scrat tries to bury his acorn into the ice, lava emerges and sends Scrat and his baby deep down into an abyss as “Fireball” plays in the background. Scrat comedically tumbles and falls as baby Scrat floats on a leaf gently to the ground.

Now landed in the Lost World, Scrat’s acorn burns into ash. Scrat throws the burnt acorn at a T. rex fossil, which splashes the lava on Scrat, now burnt to a crisp. As the scene ends, we are shown Manny, Sid, Diego, and Ellie coming across the Lost World and looking into the distance, potentially finding a new home for their family. Ice Age: Boling Point will release in early 2027.
