CinemaCon 2026 has been one to remember, with presentations from Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, Amazon MGM, and Warner Bros. offering cinephiles plenty to chew on this week. Next up is Paramount Pictures, with all eyes on their presentation amid the pending acquisition of Warner Bros. The official convention of Cinema United, formerly known as the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), CinemaCon has become one of the year’s top news events for eager moviegoers. The annual event brings together over 6,000 theater owners, distributors, exhibitors, industry professionals, and journalists from 60+ countries at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to celebrate the communal theatrical experience and discuss what’s to come.

Paramount Pictures is expected to give updates on Scary Movie, the next live-action Street Fighter adaptation, and the final Jackass film. Press and CinemaCon attendees might also get the latest news on Ti West’s Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol and Mr. Irrelevant, the upcoming sports biopic on New York Giants player John Tuggle. Any information on Sonic the Hedgehog 4 or the other, untitled Sonic universe “event” film slated for December 22, 2028 would be great to hear as well.

CinemaCon is not open to the public, which means there are no online releases of exclusive footage or first-look reveals from the event. But look no further, as we at DiscussingFilm will be listing below every major news update and exclusive footage description LIVE from Paramount Pictures’ CinemaCon 2026 studio presentation. Stay tuned as we continue to cover this year’s CinemaCon today, with the final presentations from Walt Disney Studios still coming today.

Live Paramount Updates From CinemaCon 2026

New Paramount Movies Confirmed at CinemaCon 2026

  • Top Gun 3
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is confirmed to feature Jim Carrey’s return as Dr. Robotnik.

Scary Movie

Directed by Michael Tiddes.
Screenplay by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans, & Rick Alvarez.
Based on characters created by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Buddy Johnson, Phil Beauman, Jason Friedberg, & Aaron Seltzer.
Produced by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans, & Rick Alvarez.
Main Cast: Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Heidi Gardner, Lochlyn Munro, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, & Sydney Park.

Exclusive Footage Description: The cast of Scary Movie took the stage at the Paramount Pictures panel at CinemaCon 2026, promising that in their long-awaited sequel to their horror-parody franchise, this movie was designed as an “equal opportunity offender.” Attendees were also given a new trailer for the film, which starts with a jab at the sunken place scene in Get Out, in which we see Marlon Wayans sink into his seat, saying that he’s super high to his clones.

In a parody of Scream (2021), Anna Faris as Cindy and Regina Hall as Brenda reunite. In one of the more absurd parts of the trailer, the running children from Weapons are parodied, actually drugged on spiked Halloween candy. One child makes a “67” joke before being run over by a car. There’s a Smile scene where Cindy assaults patients in a mental ward, and a scene where the killer injects an aspiring porn star with “the stuff.” The trailer doesn’t give away too many gags, but it shows a wide range of films that Scary Movie is tackling, ending on a “VI” in the logo, just like the Scream VI logo.

Heart of the Beast

Release Date: TBA 2026.
Directed by David Ayer.
Written by Cameron Alexander.
Produced by Brad Pitt, Damien Chazelle, Olivia Hamilton, & David Ayer.
Main Cast: Brad Pitt, J.K. Simmons, & Anna Lambe.

Cinemacon 2026 attendees were given a first look at the trailer for David Ayer’s new film Heart of the Beast at the Paramount Pictures presentation. The trailer focuses on the relationship between a veteran played by Brad Pitt, who gets into a plane crash in the middle of the woods, and his retired war dog, a German Shepherd. The two are forced to survive in the harsh Alaskan wilderness and its dangerous creatures.

Both old, frazzled, and suffering with PTSD, Pitt and his dog are on “one last mission” to make it out of the wild alive. The film will release in the fall of 2026, though no specific release date has been announced yet.

Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol

Release Date: November 13, 2026.
Directed by Ti West.
Screenplay by Nathaniel Halpern.
Based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
Produced by Emma Watts.
Main Cast: Johnny Depp, Andrea Riseborough, Tramell Tillman, Ian McKellen, Rupert Grint, Daisy Ridley, Sam Claflin, Charlie Murphy, Arthur Conti, & Ellie Bamber.

Exclusive Footage Description: Johnny Depp entered the stage at the Paramount Pictures panel at CinemaCon 2026 to introduce a first look at Ti West’s new take on A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer. The trailer opens on Depp in prosthetics playing the classic Dickens character. We also get to hear Depp’s line delivery of “Bah humbug!” Although visually darker and moody, the trailer mostly adheres to the original story’s plot. Ebenezer is visited by the ghost of Jacob Marley (Ian McKellen) and the ghost of Christmas Past (Andrea Riseborough), both pale and ghastly in their character designs.

While Scrooge lies on his bed, he sinks and is transported back into the past. The trailer also shows the Ghost of Christmas Present, portrayed by Tramell Tillman, with his ribcage open. After that, Scrooge gets chased by zombified children. The trailer is more comedic than expected, and Ti West’s horror trademarks are mostly absent, except for the ghoulish-looking ghosts and Gothic aesthetics.

The Angry Birds Movie 3

Release Date: December 23, 2026.
Screenplay by Thurop Van Orman.
Based on the Angry Birds video game franchise by Rovio Entertainment.
Produced by John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor, & Namit Malhotra.
Main Cast: Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, Danny McBride, Psalm West, Anthony Padilla, Ian Hecox, Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, Lily James, Tim Robinson, Walker Scobell, Sam Richardson, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Anna Cathcart, MrBeast, & Salish Matter.

Exclusive Footage Description: Cinemacon 2026 attendees were given an exclusive first look teaser for The Angry Birds Movie 3 during the Paramount Pictures panel. The trailer was relatively short, but it brings Red’s (Jason Sudeikis) arc full circle as we watch him raise a child and form his own family. How exactly Red now has children isn’t explained, as the trailer didn’t highlight a love interest, but the film’s arc focuses on Red growing beyond his grumpy exterior and learning to care for his own flock.

The trailer ends with Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride) attempting to babysit the children, leading to chaos and antics as the baby bird drinks an entire bottle of soda.

Mr. Irrelevant

Release Date: December 25, 2026.
Directed by Jonathan Levine.
Written by Nick Santora.
Produced by Jonathan Levine, Gillian Bohrer, & Nick Santora.
Main Cast: David Corenswet, Isabel May, Michael Shannon, & David Krumholtz.

Exclusive Footage Description: At Cinemacon 2026, David Corenswet introduced the first look trailer for Mr. Irrelevant, which is based on the life of real-world football player John Tuggle. The footage opens on the early career of Corenswet as Tuggle, with a mustache and long blonde hair. We see him befriend his roommate Joe Morris (Takudzwa Matsatsa) as he tries to get drafted by the New York Giants. We watch as Tuggle does his best to impress Bill Paracells (Michael Shannon), fall in love, and work his way from nobody to football star.

The trailer culminates with Tuggle’s struggle with cancer, and we are shown him shaving his head. Mr. Irrelevant is a classic feel-good underdog story and another star vehicle for Corenswet, hot off his breakout role as Clark Kent in Superman (2025).

Children of Blood and Bone

Release Date: January 15, 2027.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.
Screenplay by Gina Prince-Bythewood & Tomi Adeyemi.
Based on the novel by Tomi Adeyemi.
Produced by Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Karen Rosenfelt, & Matt Jackson.
Main Cast: Thuso Mbedu, Tosin Cole, Amandla Stenberg, Damson Idris, Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Regina King, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, & Viola Davis.

Exclusive Footage Description: Gina Prince-Bythewood and her ensemble cast for Children of Blood and Bone took the stage at the Paramount Pictures panel at CinemaCon 2026 to introduce a first-look trailer for Prince-Bythewood’s new adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s best-selling novel. The film is huge in scale, full of fantastical Afrofuturist aesthetics, and boasts some of the most beloved Black talent working in Hollywood right now.

In one sequence at the end of the trailer, we see a character cast a spell to forge a giant monster out of the trees to defeat a horde of enemy soldiers. The film is very VFX-heavy, capturing a high-fantasy world with a great deal of detail and spectacle, much like the films Gina Prince-Bythewood has recently been known for.
