The Prime Video August 2026 list of new arrivals is led by the highly anticipated premiere of Reacher Season 4. Star Alan Ritchson returns for what could be Jack Reacher’s most emotionally complex dilemma yet. After encountering a suicide bomber on a New York City subway and subsequently failing to save their life, Reacher must wrestle with his trauma and guilt surrounding the tragedy while uncovering the political conspiracy behind it. Based on the 13th novel in Lee Child‘s Reacher series, Gone Tomorrow, Sydelle Noel (GLOW) will step into the picture as NYPD detective Tamara Green to help Reacher in his investigation, sparking a possible romance along the way.
Reacher Season 4 kicks off on August 12 and will release episodes weekly until September 16, for a total of 8 episodes. Notably, also on September 16, as this latest season of Reacher comes to an end, Prime Video subscribers will be treated to the premiere of a new spin-off series titled Neagley. Centered on Reacher’s longtime ally and confidant Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), the show will see her fall down a criminal rabbit hole as she looks into the suspicious death of an old friend. Clearly, Amazon is betting big on the Reacher TV franchise, and August 2026 will only be planting the seeds for their master plan.
Next up, the Prime Video original series Sterling Point will make for an addictive binge on August 5. Created by filmmaker Megan Park, known for her teen drama The Fallout (2021) and her coming-of-age comedy My Old Ass (2024), Sterling Point follows 17-year-old Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin) as her life takes a shocking turn. The ambitious, NYC-raised teen inherits her mysterious grandfather’s island in Canada, forcing her to uncover her family’s heritage and an unlikely summer romance in the most peculiar way.
The Last Sunrise, based on Anna Todd‘s 2025 best-selling novel, must not be missed on August 26. In this Prime Video original film, college student Ry (Maia Reficco) learns to overcome the daily challenges of her chronic illness by finding true love while on a summer island getaway with her mother (Eva Longoria) on Mallorca, Spain. For Amazon MGM Studios, this year’s Southern Gothic drama Is God Is will finally be making its Prime Video streaming debut on August 19. Writer-director Aleshea Harris adapts her own award-winning 2018 play, wherein audiences follow scarred twin sisters Racine (Kara Young) and Anaia (Mallori Johnson) as they travel across the South seeking revenge on their wretched father (Sterling K. Brown).
In terms of repertory content, both the 1968 and 1999 adaptations of The Thomas Crown Affair were just added to the Prime Video streaming service in August 2026. Perfect timing for viewers to catch up, since Amazon MGM Studios will be releasing its highly anticipated remake of this timeless spy thriller, directed by and starring Oscar winner Michael B.
