Prime Video subscribers are heading into the new year with tons of great streaming options to choose from. The most star-studded arrival of January 2025 is the Prime Video original film You’re Cordially Invited. The comedy follows Jim (Will Ferrell), the chummy father of soon-to-be bride Jenni (Geraldine Viswanathan), as he kicks off a chaotic feud with top-notch wedding planner Margot (Reese Witherspoon), who’s accidentally booked her own bride, Neve (Meredith Hagner), at the same wedding venue on the exact same date. Prime Video has put great efforts into building its collection of lighthearted original comedies, making You’re Cordially Invited a must-see when the Amazon film hits the streamer on January 30, 2025.

The next Amazon movie to look out for is Unstoppable, which is making its Prime Video streaming premiere on January 16, 2025, after a limited theatrical run. The biographical sports drama tells the real underdog story of American wrestler Anthony Robles, who defied all expectations despite being born with only one leg and refusing to wear a prosthetic replacement. Robles, played by Jharrel Jerome (I’m a Virgo), made headlines in 2011 when he won the NCAA individual wrestling national championship in the 125-pound weight class. Produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, Unstoppable marks the directorial debut of their longtime editor, William Goldenberg (Air), and stars megastar Jennifer Lopez as Anthony’s hard-working single mother, Judy Robles.

Moving on to Prime Video shows, The Rig Season 2 brings another thrilling mystery when it launches on January 2, 2025. Led by Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) and Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek), the Scottish supernatural thriller series centers on an oil rig crew in the North Sea who start experiencing madness linked to a strange spore. In this second season, the surviving crew of the Kinloch Bravo are now taken to a secret offshore facility called the Stac, nestled deep in the extraordinary and deadly landscapes of the Arctic Circle. Stark Trek veteran Alice Krige, known for playing the Borg Queen, joins the cast in a mysterious role, ensuring The Rig Season 2 is not to be missed.

Harlem Season 3 is next up on the list. The Prime Video original series is all about the hilariously relatable antics of four Black women — Camille Parks (Meagan Good), Quinn Joseph (Grace Byers), Angie Wilson (Shoniqua Shandai), and Tye Reynolds (Jerrie Johnson) — living in Harlem in their ‘30s as they sift through an often unrepresented part of adulthood. Since its debut, series creator Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip, First Wives Club) has received great acclaim, namely for recruiting notable Black talent both behind and in front of the camera. Expect that positive reception to only glow as Harlem‘s third season releases on January 23, 2025.

To wrap up Prime Video originals this month, On Call is looking to make a splash when it arrives on January 9, 2025. Coming from legendary producer Dick Wolf, famed for creating the Law & Order and Chicago TV franchises, the premise of On Call is exactly what the title implies. Audiences follow veteran training officer Traci Harmon (Troian Bellisario) and her rookie partner Alex Diaz (Brandon Larracuente) as they respond to emergency calls in Long Beach, California. But unlike most Dick Wolf productions, this specific Amazon show will follow a half-hour episode format. Length is moot because whatever Wolf touches draws in crowds of viewers, and this will likely be the same with Prime Video’s On Call.

Finally, Prime Video is getting a hefty collection of recent theatrical hits at the top of January 2025. One significant addition is director Michael Sarnoski‘s much-lauded prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, starring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. Sarnoski pulls back the curtains to give fans a visceral origin to the alien invasion that kicked off the overarching story of the A Quiet Place franchise. Also, subscribers who missed out on last year’s The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, will now be able to stream the movie for free on January 2, 2025. There’s no better time to swoon over the action rom-com’s spectacular stunt work, orchestrated by director David Leitch, in all its glory.

Zoë Kravitz‘s directorial debut, Blink Twice, is getting added to Prime Video on January 21, 2025, as well. The psychological thriller, anchored by a chilling performance from Channing Tatum, was met with some wild audience reactions when it hit theaters. This means that Prime Video subscribers can finally see what all the discourse was about for themselves. But for those more in the mood for a certified classic, be sure to stream Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights, David Fincher’s The Social Network, or Brian DePalma’s Scarface, as they are all new on the Prime Video streaming platform this month.
