The Disney+ and Hulu February 2025 list of new arrivals is packed with goodies for both younger and adult viewers. As always, Disney bundle subscribers with access to the two streamers can make the most of this list. First up is Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, which just debuted its final episodes on Disney+. The animated children’s series, about a brilliant 13-year-old girl in New York City who accidentally brings a crimson Tyrannosaurus-like dinosaur into her world via a portal, received considerable acclaim during its Disney Channel run before it was unceremoniously canceled in the middle of its second season last year. This makes the remaining 10 unaired episodes a bittersweet addition for Disney+ subscribers and Marvel fans.
The next Disney+ show to highlight is Pixar’s Win or Lose — the first full-length original series to come from the iconic animation studio. Win or Lose centers on a co-ed middle school softball team called the Pickles as they prepare in the week leading up to their big championship game. Each episode follows the unique perspective of a different player on the team, balancing different aspects of adolescence. The series includes the voice talents of Will Forte, Lil Rey Howery, and Rhea Seehorn, among an impressive young cast ensemble who make up the Pickles. Disney’s recent decision to remove a transgender storyline from the Pixar show stirred some controversy, putting all eyes on its premiere on February 19, 2025.
Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is delivering his next highly-anticipated historical crime epic to Disney+ and Hulu, called A Thousand Blows. The series follows two Jamaican immigrants, Hezekiah Moscow (Malachi Kirby) and Alec Munroe (Francis Lovehall), trying to make their way in the brutal East End of London in the 1800s. Hezekiah, by chance, gets thrown into the world of bare-knuckle boxing, which is run by the ruthless reigning champ Sugar Goodson (Stephen Graham). At the same time, Hezekiah’s antics catch the attention of Mary Carr (Erin Doherty), the infamous Queen of the Forty Elephants — an all-women criminal gang specializing in shoplifting that dominated 19th to 20th century London.
Complete with period detail, Hulu subscribers won’t want to miss A Thousand Blows when it premieres on February 21, 2025. While there’s not much else in the way of Hulu original series, there is one other significant Hulu show that just made its return. The Kardashians Season 6 recently got added to Hulu, providing yet another glimpse into the “chaotic” lifestyles of the rich and famous. The political thriller series Paradise, led by Sterling K. Brown, also continues to debut new episodes throughout the month. The same goes for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, both of which will continue to release new episodes on the Disney+ streaming platform in February 2025.
SLY LIVES! (aka The Burden of Black Genius), debuting as a Disney+ and Hulu original film on February 13, 2025, is the last notable addition to discuss. Following his Oscar-winning documentary Summer of Soul, musician-turned-director Questlove shifts his focus to Sly Stone of the prolific funk band Sly & The Family Stone. Featuring interviews with music icons like Chaka Khan, Nile Rogers, and Andre 3000, Questlove’s latest documentary makes for an excellent watch this Black History Month. Moving on, older favorites that just got added to Hulu’s streaming library in February 2025 include both of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill movies, Tony Scott’s Man on Fire, and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, which is always a good Valentine’s Day streaming option.
