New Arrivals for Netflix July 2025

The Netflix July 2025 list of new arrivals is packed with movies and TV shows that fans have been eagerly awaiting for years. Up first is the highly anticipated sequel, The Old Guard 2, which begins streaming on July 2, 2025. Based on the graphic novel series by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández, the sequel catches up with Andromache of Scythia (Charlize Theron), or Andy for short, and her squad of immortal soldiers face “the first of the immortals” known as Discord (Uma Thurman). It’s a battle of two action icons as Andy and Discord settle a feud that was centuries in the making. Hopefully, it doesn’t take another 5 years for Netflix to produce another Old Guard sequel.

Next up, Happy Gilmore 2 is set to premiere on July 25, 2025. The Netflix original film is the not-to-be-missed legacy sequel of the summer, following up on one of Adam Sandler‘s most beloved comedies of all time, Happy Gilmore (1996). Thirty years after Gilmore won his first Tour Championship, Gilmore steps out of retirement from golf to help pay for his daughter Vienna’s ballet school. The Netflix movie boasts a massive supporting cast of recognizable comedians, real professional golfers, and other celebrity cameos. Some of the more unexpected names that fans can expect to see include Benny Safdie, Margaret Qualley, Eric André, Scott Mescudi (a.k.a Kid Cudi), Bad Bunny, Post Malone, Eminem, and football star Travis Kelce.

Moving into Netflix shows, The Sandman Season 2 is finally arriving in July 2025. The second season will be its last, a fateful decision made by the streamer after a string of serious assault allegations against original comic creator Neil Gaiman came to light last year. The Sandman is one of Gaiman’s most prolific works, alongside Coraline and Good Omens, the latter of which also had its critically acclaimed TV show adaptation cut short due to the scandal. Although some might argue it’s unfair that the actions of one vile person can end an entire television series, Netflix is trying its best to bring the story of Lord Morpheus, or Dream (Tom Sturridge), to a satisfying conclusion.

The final season of The Sandman will be released throughout the entire month. Season 2 Vol. 1, consisting of six episodes, lands on July 3, 2025, while Vol. 2, consisting of five episodes, debuts on July 24. A bonus episode focusing on the character of Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) titled “The Sandman Presents: Death: The High Cost of Living” will air on July 31. Hopefully, this will be enough to give the hit Netflix adaptation a worthy ending. Moving on to other must-see arrivals, the stop-motion animated My Melody & Kuromi series from Japan begins streaming on July 24. See the iconic Sanrio characters like never before in a fuzzy and colorful adventure in their whimsical home of Mariland.

For those Netflix subscribers looking for their next addictive binge, July 2025 also has in store a new rom-com and murder mystery show from two notable industry names. The romantic comedy series, titled Too Much, marks co-creator Lena Dunham‘s (Girls) return to television. Audiences follow New Yorker Jessica (Megan Stalter) as she starts over in London after a messy breakup and forms an unlikely bond with the local Felix (Will Sharpe). In Untamed, co-creator Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Twisters) tells a thrilling murder mystery set in Yosemite National Park with actors Eric Bana and Sam Neill at the forefront. Too Much arrives on the Netflix streaming service on July 10, 2025, while Untamed premieres on July 17.

To wrap things up, Netflix’s streaming library is adding some older classics that are perfect for the 2025 summer season. Right in time for the 50th anniversary, Steven Spielberg’s Jaws (and its three wild sequels) will be available to stream starting on July 15, 2025. The first five Mission: Impossible movies are now streaming on Netflix, too, which is excellent timing for those who enjoyed The Final Reckoning in theaters this past May. On a similar note, the entire Karate Kid franchise just got added to Netflix, meaning that Karate Kid: Legends will be coming next (as part of the streamer’s deal with Sony Pictures). Other recommendations include Mad Max: Fury Road, Pacific Rim, and V for Vendetta.
