If the Netflix September 2025 list of new arrivals is any indication, the incoming fall season will be just as packed as the summer. This month is, of course, spearheaded by Wednesday Season 2 Part 2, which debuts on September 3. The first half of the second season of this Addams Family reimagining ended on a cliffhanger, with the titular Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) gravely injured. Therefore, this Netflix show is returning with momentum, as audiences wait to see what has become of Wednesday as well as staple series characters like Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) and Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday). Additionally, these next four episodes will introduce Lady Gaga as Rosaline Wood, a potential teacher at Nevermore Academy.

In terms of Netflix original films, iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove will headline the rom-com The Wrong Paris. The Netflix movie boasts a fun premise: a woman accepts a spot on a dating show in Paris only to realize it’s Paris, Texas, not Paris, France. The Wrong Paris co-stars actor, model, and internet personality Pierson Fodé and will start streaming on September 12. Another notable Netflix premiere this month is Black Rabbit. The original miniseries follows the chaos that ensues when the owner of a New York City hotspot (Jude Law) lets his estranged brother (Jason Bateman) back into his life. Created by screenwriter Zach Baylin (The Order, Creed III) and Kate Susman, Black Rabbit hits the streamer on September 18.

There are two more notable shows releasing on Netflix in September 2025. The first is House of Guinness, where prolific British screenwriter Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, A Thousand Blows) will tell the story of the titular Irish brewing company. Following the death of patriarch Benjamin Guinness in 1868, his four adult children (played by Louis Partridge, Anthony Boyle, Emily Fairn, and Finn O’Shea) are left to manage their brewing empire across 19th-century Ireland and New York. Fans of Knight’s previous gripping period dramas will not want to miss out on House of Guinness when it launches on September 25.

Next up is the Netflix limited series Wayward. Created by and starring Mae Martin (Feel Good), Wayward is a dark thriller set in a small town that explores the twisted nature of a local “school” said to be helping teens who are on a troubled path. Co-starring Toni Collette, best known for Hereditary (2018) and Mickey 17 (2025), Wayward is sure to spark conversation and debates around the troubled teen industry when it comes to the Netflix streaming platform on September 25. Still looking for other streaming recommendations, perhaps older gems? No worries, Netflix subscribers will have plenty to choose from in September 2025.

For the superhero fans, The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its sequel, led by Andrew Garfield, will arrive at the top of the month. Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes (2009) and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011) are getting added to the Netflix streaming library as well. For families, all the Shrek movies will be available to stream under one roof in September 2025 — great timing as fans anticipate the upcoming theatrical release of Shrek 5 (2027).
