The HBO Max November 2025 list of new arrivals is keeping the energy high for the Fall television season. First up is the premiere of the new HBO original series I Love LA on November 2. Created and executive produced by Rachel Sennott (Bottoms, Shiva Baby), I Love LA follows an ambitious friend group as they navigate life and love in, you guessed it, Los Angeles, California, otherwise known as the heart of the entertainment industry. Sennott has built a following around her hilarious outlook on millennial culture and quirky comedic tastes. Fans won’t want to miss out on this HBO comedy series, as Josh Hutcherson, True Whitaker, Jordan Firstman, and Odessa A’zion round out the main cast.
Up next is an HBO original drama series from France, titled The Seduction. Freely adapted from Pierre Choderlos de Laclos‘ famous 18th-century epistolary novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Seduction centers on Marquise de Merteuil (Anamaria Vartolomei), who embarks on a daring journey to become Paris’ leading courtesan after being betrayed by libertine Vicomte de Valmont (Vincent Lacoste). Described as “a thrilling exploration of the price of emotional and sexual freedom in a world where women had little,” this HBO miniseries looks to adapt a classic lovers-turned-rivals narrative in a period setting but with modern sensibilities. Directed by Jessica Palud and written by Jean-Baptiste Delafon, The Seduction debuts its first of six episodes on HBO Max on November 14, 2025.
Subscribers should also look out for the HBO Max streaming premiere of Celine Song’s Materialists on November 7, 2025. Led by Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal, Materialists grossed $109 million worldwide against a $20 million budget, making it both the most successful romantic comedy of the year and the third-highest-grossing A24 movie ever. Top New York City matchmaker Lucy (Johnson) finds herself in a complex love triangle between wealthy suitor Harry (Pascal) and her struggling ex-boyfriend John (Evans). Writer-director Celine Song, best known for Past Lives (2023), explores the impact that today’s widening class divide has taken on dating and relationship dynamics, so it’s no wonder Materialists has struck such a resonant chord with audiences.
Another recent A24 film making its HBO Max streaming debut this November is Eddington. Originally seen as divisive upon its release earlier this summer, a strong reappraisal has quickly spread in just the last few months. Writer-director Ari Aster follows up on his surrealist black comedy, Beau Is Afraid (2023), with a modern Western that satirizes today’s increasingly hysterical political climate. What starts out as a standoff between local Sheriff Joe Cross (Joaquin Phoenix) and Mayor Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal) in the small town of Eddington, New Mexico, during the COVID-19 pandemic, slowly morphs into total chaos as political paranoia sinks in. HBO Max subscribers should definitely give Ari Aster’s Eddington a chance when it arrives on November 14.
The streamer will also be adding a few fascinating documentaries throughout November 2025. The HBO original documentary One to One: John & Yoko, which offers a rare inside look at John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s first year in New York City in the early 1970s, begins streaming on November 14. Meanwhile, Thoughts & Prayers will be available to stream on November 18. The HBO doc examines the $3 billion active shooter preparedness industry and its effect on students and educators, making it a must-watch on the HBO Max streaming service this month. Additionally, New York Yankees baseball icon Alex Rodriguez will receive his own introspective, three-part documentary series, Alex vs ARod, on November 6.
To wrap up, some final streaming recommendations include Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects for those seeking to satisfy lingering Halloween cravings for cult horror movies. However, for those looking to get the holiday season started early, A Christmas Story and The Polar Express should do the job just fine.
