Is there any question that Stranger Things Season 5 is the hot ticket leading the Netflix November 2025 list of new arrivals? The Netflix original series, which has seen four seasons with unprecedented success, begins its fifth and last season this month. The Duffer Brothers will reunite the original Hawkins gang — Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), and Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) — with other fan-favorite characters played by Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and so many more. The final mission at hand? Destroy Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and put an end to his reign over the Upside Down.

The importance of Stranger Things to the Netflix streaming platform cannot be overstated. An argument can be made that this Netflix show, in particular, truly crystallized the trend of retro ‘80s nostalgia and proved once and for all that streaming can be a form of event television. Fittingly, the fifth season of Stranger Things is receiving a huge rollout. The first volume of Stranger Things 5 consists of four episodes and is set to premiere on November 26, 2025. The second part, consisting of three episodes, will then be released on Christmas Day. Lastly, the series finale will be available to stream on December 31 and will also get a theatrical release.

Speaking of Netflix original films with their own theatrical release, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein will finally make its much-anticipated streaming debut on November 7, 2025. The gothic horror drama has been praised as one of the most faithful adaptations of Mary Shelley’s iconic novel, while engaging in Del Toro’s deep admiration for tragic monsters. Led by Oscar Isaac as Dr. Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as the Creature, the film is reportedly an early Oscar contender in several categories, including production design, cinematography, costumes, and makeup. Fans can still catch Frankenstein in the last legs of its limited theatrical run, even as it becomes available to Netflix subscribers this month.

For kids, Netflix will release new episodes of Sesame Street as Season 56 premieres concurrently on PBS and the streamer on November 10, 2025. This massive streaming deal provides families with wider access to the famous children’s show, as over 90 hours of previous seasons will be added on the same day. For something more adult, the critically acclaimed Sundance hit Train Dreams, starring Joel Edgerton, arrives on November 21. The period drama has garnered universal acclaim for its tenderness and perceptive nature. Another notable festival addition is Nouvelle Vague, Richard Linklater’s retelling of the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless. The two Netflix movies will enjoy a limited theatrical run before their streaming premieres to boost their awards consideration.

Netflix’s November 2025 lineup is stacked, and that extends to the field of animation. Enter the directorial debut of former Pixar animator Alex Woo, In Your Dreams. With a voice cast led by recent Emmy winner Cristin Miloti, Simu Liu, and Craig Robinson, the animated film boasts an intriguing premise for a children’s story. To save their parents’ marriage, a brother and sister venture into the dream world to find The Sandman in order to grant their wish. Harkening back to the golden era of Pixar, early buzz on In Your Dreams suggests that it will be a feel-good, yet no less heart-tugging, animated movie for the whole family when it begins streaming on November 14.

Lastly, Netflix’s streaming library is expanding in November 2025 with both older and modern classics. If you want to keep the spooky vibes from Halloween going, Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep just got added to the streamer. For a throwback movie marathon, the Back to the Future trilogy is always a great choice. Paddington 2 and Wonka, both directed by Paul King, will make for a wholesome Thanksgiving double feature on Netflix, too.
