As the dominant giant of the streaming age, it’s no surprise that the Netflix April 2026 list of new arrivals is as stacked as it is. One of the most prominent Netflix premieres of the month is Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85. Following the contentious final season of Stranger Things, this animated prequel series, set between seasons 2 and 3 of the main show, aims to emulate Saturday morning cartoons. Because audiences are going back to Hawkins, Indiana, but in the winter of 1985, this means that none of the original cast are returning to voice their characters. Regardless, Tales From ’85 promises to hold many surprises for Stranger Things fans when it debuts on April 23.
Next up, XO, Kitty Season 3 launches on April 2. The spin-off series of the popular To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film trilogy sees Anna Cathcart reprising her role as Katherine “Kitty” Song-Covey, as she finds her way as a foreign exchange high school student in South Korea. This third season looks to be extra special, with Lana Condor finally returning as Kitty’s older sister from the films, Lara Jean Covey, in a guest role. Equally exciting is the arrival of Apex, a new Netflix original film starring Charlize Theron. On April 24, Netflix subscribers get to see Theron play a rock climber who finds herself running from a dangerous hunter, played by Taron Egerton.
Three years after the first season swept the Emmys with 8 wins, Beef Season 2 is at last here. The first season, starring Ali Wong and Steven Yeun, was a surprise hit for the streamer. Beef is now seemingly pivoting to an anthology format, pitting younger stars Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, Alien: Romulus) and Charles Melton (May December, Warfare) against the great pairing of Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan. After witnessing a fight between their millennial boss and his spouse, a Gen Z couple working at a country club uses that to blackmail them. Whether lightning can strike twice is anyone’s guess, but Beef seems to be making the right moves. The second season premieres in full on April 16.
One more Netflix show to note in April 2026 is Man on Fire. An adaptation of the 1980 A.J. Quinnell novel of the same name, previously adapted by director Tony Scott in the iconic 2004 film starring Denzel Washington, this latest version stars Yahya Abdul-Matteen II as ex-mercenary John Creasy. Creasy is trying to live a peaceful life when a series of events forces him to seek revenge. The supporting cast notably includes Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, and Scoot McNairy. The timeless story of Man on Fire is sure to captivate viewers again when it comes to the Netflix streaming service on April 30.
For those looking for repertory content to enjoy, Netflix has you covered. Diehard fans looking forward to the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, simply titled Michael, will be happy to see the iconic movie musical, The Wiz, added to Netflix’s streaming library at the top of the month. For families, the Madagascar trilogy provides plenty of laughs, whereas the first five Mission: Impossible movies are there to give the action junkies their fix.
