With summer quickly approaching, the HBO Max April 2026 list of new arrivals aims to close out spring with great fanfare. First up is the fifth and final season of the Emmy-winning HBO Max original series Hacks. Following the aftermath of being mistakenly reported as dead in a hoax, aging comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her head writer, Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), return to Las Vegas to retake the comedy world by storm. Over the last five years, the HBO Max show has been an awards darling, often sweeping the Emmys and Golden Globes television categories. Expect no less than the same praise when Hacks begins to take its final bow on April 9.

Perhaps the most anticipated HBO Max premiere in April 2026 is Euphoria Season 3. The smash hit HBO original series returns just over four years after the successful, though divisive, second season. Since then, cast members Eric Dane and Angus Cloud have tragically passed away. Plus, memorable supporting characters played by Barbie Ferreira and Storm Reid are not set to return. Given the immense scrutiny creator Sam Levinson has been receiving — especially since his collaboration with The Weeknd, The Idol, was notoriously rejected — Euphoria is under extreme pressure to deliver in its third and final season.

Euphoria Season 3 will be making some huge changes. The show has moved on from the high school setting. Now, audiences will catch up on what Rue (Zendaya) and the expansive supporting cast — including Jules (Hunter Schafer), Maddy (Alexa Demie), Nate (Jacob Elordi), Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), and Lexi (Maude Apatow) — have been up to years into their adulthood. Judging from the explosive trailers, the show’s plot will involve drug deals, reunions, and lots of sex and violence. Regardless of how the series ultimately ends up being received, it’s likely the vast majority of HBO Max subscribers will be tuning into Euphoria Season 3 every week following its premiere on April 12.

Another anticipated show coming to the HBO Max streaming service this month is Half Man. Created by and starring Richard Gadd, the mind behind the award-winning Netflix sensation Baby Reindeer, Half Man spans three decades of complex history and violent machismo between two brothers, Ruben (Gadd) and Niall (Jamie Bell). The six-episode miniseries starts from the present day, when Ruben shows up at Niall’s wedding. He’s keeping further story details a bit close to the chest for now, but if his prior work is anything to go by, Half Man will be required viewing when it debuts on the streamer on April 24.

Plenty of classic films and newer favorites are being added to HBO Max in April 2026, too. Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme is coming on April 24. The ambitious comedy-thriller boasts a career-best performance from Oscar-nominee Timothée Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a table tennis champion in early-1950s New York who goes to extreme lengths to prove he’s the best in the world. Notably, Marty Supreme has the prestigious title of being the highest-grossing A24 movie worldwide, making it a must-watch on HBO Max. Sydney Sweeney’s turn in the female boxing biopic Christy has also gotten many positive notices, and fans will be able to see for themselves when it arrives on April 10.

To wrap up, Bryan Fuller’s fantasy action flick Dust Bunny, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Sigourney Weaver, is getting added to the streaming giant on April 17. The entire Aliens franchise, including 2024’s Alien: Romulus, is getting added on April 1 as well. Discover more about our monthly recommendations below, then check out the list of every film and TV show coming to the HBO Max streaming platform in April 2026.
