Max subscribers have plenty to look forward to in March 2024. This month’s new arrivals are led by the premiere of HBO’s The Regime, a political satire miniseries led by the one and only Kate Winslet. Set within the palace of a fictionalized, modern central European authoritarian regime, audiences follow Chancellor Elena Vernham (Winslet) as the paranoia of her country’s uprising sinks in and the walls come crumbling down. The six-episode limited series comes from creator Will Tracy, who previously wrote multiple episodes of HBO’s Succession and also co-wrote the satirical horror film, The Menu. Kate Winslet previously executive produced and starred in HBO’s Mare of Easttown, which went on to win four Emmys including Outstanding Lead Actress for herself. Winslet and HBO make for a dream team, and The Regime is not to be missed.

Keeping up with the theme of politics, the new Max original series The Girls on the Bus is premiering in March 2024 as well. The political drama series centers around four hard-edged female journalists who travel together on the road as they cover the campaigns of scandalous presidential candidates. The show is co-created by former New York Times journalist Amy Chozick and is inspired by her 2018 memoir Chasing Hillary, which was based on her time covering Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. The four main political reporters of The Girls on the Bus are played by Melissa Benoist (Supergirl), Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher), Natasha Behnam (Mayans M.C.), and Christina Elmore (Insecure). In covering the battle for the White House, these four female journalists soon realize that they might be stronger together rather than purely competing against each other.

In terms of new movies getting added to Max’s revolving streaming library, there is so much to choose from this month. At the top of this list is Wonka starring Timothée Chalamet, which is finally making its streaming debut on Max on March 8 after a successful box office run. Writer-director Paul King injects this musical comedy with the same kind of whimsy that elevated his two Paddington films, making it a perfect watch for the whole family. Moving on, A24’s Dream Scenario led by Nicolas Cage is arriving on the streaming platform on March 15. The surrealist dark comedy follows Paul Matthews (Cage), a pitiful individual who suddenly starts appearing in everyone’s dreams across the world, granting him a new level of fame. Dream Scenario was one of the most unique comedies of 2023, powered by an endearing yet tragic performance by the great Nicolas Cage.

Max subscribers who are in the mood for more A24 films after watching Dream Scenario can now stream The Green Knight and Good Time in March 2024 as well. Fans of the MonsterVerse franchise will be happy to see that Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters are all back on Max this month, just in time for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The original King Kong and Son of Kong from 1933 are both now on the streaming service too. Furthermore, the entire Ocean’s series just got added to the streamer, including director Steven Soderbergh’s trilogy and the original Ocean’s 11 from 1960 starring the Rat Pack. Other notable additions to Max in March 2024 include Wes Craven’s original Scream trilogy, Ryan Coogler’s bold feature debut Fruitvale Station, and Ryan Reynolds’ first solo Deadpool movie.
