The Netflix January 2026 list of new arrivals is jam-packed with surprises. Following the series finale of Stranger Things that premiered on New Year’s Eve, the streamer is going to keep the ball rolling with the return of another one of its most popular originals: Bridgerton. On January 29, Bridgerton Season 4 Part 1, consisting of four episodes, will shift the show’s focus to the titular noble family’s second son, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). Shondaland and Netflix are now adapting the third book in Julia Quinn’s Regency romance novel series, 2001’s An Offer from a Gentleman.

Bridgerton Season 4 is putting a London high society period spin on the classic Cinderella love story. Benedict remains wary of settling down, like both his older and younger siblings have in previous seasons. However, that changes when he meets a mysterious Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), at his mother’s masquerade ball. Elsewhere, Penelope Featherington’s (Nicola Coughlan) exploits as gossiper Lady Whistledown become further complicated, as Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) and the rest of the prestigious ton are now aware of her true identity. While Part 1 releases this January, fans will have to wait until February 26 to stream the final four episodes in Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 to see how it all resolves.

Up next is an exciting Netflix original series that is being fronted by the star power of Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, The Accountant 2) and Tessa Thompson (Hedda, Thor: Love and Thunder). Based on Alice Feeney‘s 2020 crime thriller novel, His & Hers follows estranged spouses Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal) and Anna Andrews (Thompson), an Atlanta news anchor. Anna is drawn back to her small hometown in northern Georgia to cover a peculiar murder, putting her in the crosshairs of her former lover. Their messy past positions them as prime suspects in this case, at least in their eyes. Netflix subscribers will have to binge all 6 episodes of this limited series on January 8 to uncover the truth.

On the note of immense star power, The Rip is the must-see Netflix original film of January 2026. The latest from action filmmaker Joe Carnahan (Copshop, The Grey) reunites Ben Affleck and Matt Damon for another brothers-in-arms crime story. When JD Byrne (Affleck) and Dane Dumars (Damon), longtime partners in the Miami PD, discover a stash of millions in cash during a raid, the walls come crashing down on who they can trust to uphold the law. They soon become targeted by fellow cops and criminals, and must reaffirm their allegiances. Co-starring Steven Yeun (Mickey 17), Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another), and Sasha Calle (The Flash), The Rip premieres on January 16.

Finally, January 2026 will kick off a massive new deal between Netflix and another streaming giant, Amazon MGM. The rival streamer has agreed to license the entire James Bond 007 catalogue to Netflix for a limited time (reportedly 3 months). Starting on January 15, all 25 Eon-produced Bond movies, from Dr. No (1962) to No Time to Die (2021), and the notorious unofficial remake, Never Say Never Again (1983), will be available on the Netflix streaming service. It’s a shocking move by Amazon MGM, but one that could pay off in multiple ways. If they want to sustain broad interest in the spy franchise until their upcoming blockbuster reboot from acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve, this deal makes sense.
