Critics Choice Awards 2022: The Nominations

by Diego Andaluz
A collage oTimothée Chalamet in f DUNE, Alana Haim in LICORICE PIZZA, and Kristen Stewart in SPENCER, all movies nominated at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards.

After the nomination announcements for the Golden Globes this very same morning, the 2022 Critics Choice Awards are the next large group on the list. Drawing from a pool of over 400 critics (including our very own Senior Film Critic Ben Rolph), these nominations boost many pivotal favorites that could be ignored in the rest of the industry precursors, while helping to once again solidify the greater Oscars race. In a year where the Globes won’t host a televised ceremony, Critics Choice could step up to the plate and fill in that void with their own worthy show. But could the nominations live up to these expectations? It’s time to find out.

Today, we’ll keep you updated on the nominees of each category as soon as they are announced. Continue checking back to see which of your favorite performers and filmmakers will get honored at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards! You can also look back at the final winners for the 2021 Oscars, Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, SAG Awards, BAFTAs, MTV Awards, Gotham Awards, and HCA TV Awards right here on DiscussingFilm.
