Golden Globes 2022: The Nominations

by Diego Andaluz
A line of Golden Statues ready to be handed out to the next wave of winners for the 2022 Golden Globes.

Perhaps the most popular awards ceremony only following the Academy Awards, the nominations for the 2022 Golden Globes have finally arrived. After a year of much internal turmoil and alleged institutional change, the Globes find themselves without a network television slot for the first time in almost 15 years. Numerous ethical and financial lapses surrounding the ceremony were exposed earlier this February, and now after 8 months of infernal reform – including hiring a Chief Diveristy Officer and admitting new members – the Globes are supposedly ready to honor another fantastic year in film and television. Whether or not such touted institutional change is actually taking place should be ideally reflected in this year’s nominees.

Regardless of not having a televised show this time around, it cannot be denied that as the first major body to announce their nominees, the Globes help guide and boost films on their road to Oscar glory. Today, we’ll keep you updated on the nominees of each category as soon as they are announced. Given the Globes’ current public image, this wave of names and titles should be especially interesting. Read on to find out just how many snubs and surprises took place in the final lineup for the 2022 Golden Globes! You can also look back at the final winners for the 2021 Oscars, Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, SAG Awards, BAFTAs, MTV Awards, Gotham Awards, and HCA TV Awards right here on DiscussingFilm.
