The Academy Awards are bringing a wide variety of films hoping to strike gold in 2023. From game-changing blockbusters to idiosyncratic indie gems, this year’s Oscar lineup is filled with greatness. With a plethora of major contenders already picking up precursor nominations and wins, DiscussingFilm’s own Awards Editor, Diego Andaluz, is here to break down the current state of every category in the 2023 Oscars race with up-to-date predictions in our annual Awards Central Leaderboard.

Films like Everything Everywhere All At Once, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Banshees of Inisherin, Top Gun: Maverick, and The Fabelmans are currently leading the 2023 Oscars race with the most nominations, but plenty of surprises can still break through in the lead up to the big night on Sunday, March 12.
