The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) is now celebrating the 32nd Annual edition of the Actor Awards. Previously known as the SAG Awards, 2026 marks the first year under the “Actor Awards” rebrand. The name change follows soon after the actor guild’s notable partnership with Netflix, which has been the event’s exclusive streaming home for the past three years. For the 2026 Actor Awards, all eyes are on the performers from Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which have been dominating the ongoing awards season. Because many SAG-AFTRA members form a significant part of the Academy, the Actor Awards can further solidify the outcome of the ongoing Oscars race.

The biggest awards of the night go to the main cast in a motion picture and the main ensembles in a comedy and drama series. The Actor Awards feature another unique quality: two stunt categories dedicated to stunt ensembles in film and TV. Under new SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin, this year’s awards were voted on by more than 118,000 eligible actors, singers, dancers, announcers, program hosts, puppeteers, voice-over artists, stunt performers, and more. Icon Harrison Ford will be presented with the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award, the union’s highest honor, this year.

On the side of television, the casts of HBO Max’s The Pitt and Apple TV’s The Studio are expected to maintain control of the drama and comedy categories, respectively. Tune into the 2026 Actor Awards, hosted by actress Kristen Bell, live on Sunday, March 1 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Netflix. This will be the third year the Actor Awards are streamed live only on Netflix. You can also find the winners for the 2026 Golden Globes and BAFTA awards, as well as the 2026 Oscar nominations, right here on DiscussingFilm!
