The Golden Globes 2026 winners list has finally been revealed. As is the new standard for the Globes, all 28 categories feature six nominees instead of five (like the Academy Awards), allowing more TV and movie stars to receive their own deserved spotlight.
As expected, One Battle After Another dominated and cemented itself as a leading frontrunner for the rest of the awards season. It won 4 Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. Writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson took home his first-ever Golden Globe wins for Best Director and Best Screenplay. Teyana Taylor won Best Supporting Actress, making this acting race one of the most exciting to follow in the coming weeks. Taylor and Amy Madigan, who won in the same category at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards for her performance in Weapons, are likely to duke it out and trade wins at the awards shows leading up to Oscar Sunday, where there can only be one winner.
Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet won Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Actress – Drama for Jessie Buckley. Meanwhile, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners received Best Original Score for Ludwig Göransson and the Golden Globes’ unique Box Office and Cinematic Achievement award. Regarding the Oscars, Hamnet and Sinners are now neck and neck behind One Battle After Another in the race for Best Picture (judging by their overall performance tonight). In other races, KPop Demon Hunters won this year’s Golden Globes for Best Animated Film and Best Original Song, two categories that it practically has locked down moving forward. Timothée Chalamet’s first-ever Golden Globe win tonight for his leading performance in Marty Supreme has further solidified his Oscar chances as well.
On the TV side, Netflix’s Adolescence swept the limited series category and continued its winning streak from the recent Critics Choice Awards and the 2025 Emmys. Aside from winning Best Limited Series, actors Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Owen Cooper also won in their respective categories, bringing the show’s win tally to 4 at the 2026 Golden Globes. At 16, Cooper is now the youngest actor ever to receive 3 televised wins (Emmys, Critics Choice, and Golden Globes) for the same performance.
HBO Max’s The Pitt continued a similar sweep from the recent Critics Choice Awards and Emmys by winning Best Drama Series and Best Male Actor in a Drama Series for Noah Wyle. Likewise, Apple TV’s The Studio took home the 2026 Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series for Seth Rogen. While the show wasn’t released in time to qualify for the 2025 Emmys, Pluribus did manage to score a win for lead actress Rhea Seehorn, her first Golden Globe win after having never been nominated for her standout role in Better Call Saul.
Additionally, the 2026 Golden Globes added a new category, Best Podcast, which drew some controversy for pushing Best Original Score out of the live telecast. The 83rd annual Golden Globes ceremony was hosted by reality TV star and comedian Nikki Glaser and aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
