In the midst of an awards season where no contender has managed to establish themselves as a solitary frontrunner in the race, today, four major industry guilds will announce their nominees, each providing answers to tough questions that will dictate the future of this year’s season. Will the Producers Guild of America reveal which film is in contention for the highly debated final best picture slot? Can Don’t Look Up secure a slot at the Directors Guild of America to cement its still-divisive position as a top-tier force this season? Will titles such as The Tragedy of Macbeth and C’mon C’mon break through at the Writers Guild of America and take advantage of the absences of two major contenders? Today, Awards Editor Diego Andaluz will keep you updated on the nominees of each guild as soon as they are announced. Read on to find out just how many snubs and surprises took place in their final lineups. Stay tuned on DiscussingFilm for more news and predictions in the lead up to the 2022 Oscars.
